What Do Prototypes Prototype Response?

For each question, include a sentence or two about:

  • Why is this an important question to answer
  • What type of prototype will you make to answer this question?
  • What is your guess about how it will turn out? (the practice of prediction grows your intuition)

Question 1: How many people can play this game in a way that is still fun and engaging?

  • This question is important to answer because it can change how we market and think about the game – a game that can only be played with between 2-4 people is a lot different in terms of thinking about gameplay than one that can be played with closer to 8-10 people.
  • We’ll probably make a version of the game that is formatted for the smaller amount, and then a version that has more of the important types for the larger amount.
  • If I had to guess, our game will probably be fun and engaging regardless of the amount of players.

Question 2: Is having the role of moderator one that makes the game possible?

  • This question is important to answer because having the game be possible to get done with a moderator could potentially make the game a lot easier to build on our end, since we wouldn’t have to worry about coming up with questions.
  • We’ll include pre-written questions in one prototype, an the moderator role in the other.
  • I think the game can be done with a moderator thinking about the questions, although with a little help / support.

Question 3: Can the game work with an odd number players in this team capacity?

  • This question is important to answer because if it can work with an odd number of players, then there is not restrictions on having even players for the creation of the game.
  • We’ll try a version with an odd number of players, and a version with an even number.
  • I think the game can be done even with an odd number of players.
