One of my favorite games to play is Hello Kitty Island Adventure – it’s set on an island where you live with various Sanrio characters and on a given day, you’d usually go around collecting items and then gift them to the Sanrio characters and help them with various missions. In terms of the main set of aesthetics that make the game appealing for me, I feel like fellowship, sensation, and submission make up the reasons why I continue to play the game. There are some missions that require you to invite a friend to your island to complete them, and I got my best friend to download the game just to be run the missions with me. Additionally, there’s no real pacing to the game, so most days I log on just to collect the items that get refreshed on a daily basis and enjoy the feeling of running around, swimming, and riding in the little mine cart. I enjoy the lack of pacing also because it means that I can log onto the game just to have something fun and cute to engage in, where I get to shut my overactive brain off and just interact.
