Describe a game you enjoy and what kind of architecture it has.
I love playing Overcooked 2 with my friends, which is a max 4-player game we played on the Switch but is available on a variety of platforms. The main skills you learn throughout are chopping, cooking, cleaning, putting out fires etc. Together, these build into different recipes that you must cook for your customers, and you get access to new ones as you and your team progress. The loops are thus about really quick feedback loops of cooking, serving, and cleaning dishes done under a time constraint to achieve a certain number of stars for each level. The arc of which is happens every so many levels and is about success of completing the levels in this difficulty and progresses either by adding in more complicated gameplay (such as moving platforms, restricting player movements, etc), or by introducing new game mechanics (eg tossing food instead of just holding. The arcs also play a little prerecorded video of where you are in the narrative of the game, which is ultimately to destroy zombie toast iirc. It’s quite funny because during the arcs and as the king is talking to the team, you’re allowed to emote as much as you want which is quite adorable to interrupt and contest the king before moving back to intense cooking.
