Arcs and Loops Sketchnote

loops and arcs

I didn’t read closely enough and added an example of a game I enjoy in side of my sketchnote. I chose “What Remains of Edith Finch.” The game architecture is comprised of arcs and loops. The game mostly follows an arc structure because the player progresses through one main storyline (with mini arcs) from beginning to end. Each family member’s story is a short narrative arc with a clear beginning, middle, and ending. However, the game also has small gameplay loops, such as exploring rooms, discovering objects, and interacting with memories. These loops support the larger narrative arc and help keep the player engaged while moving through the story.
