Sketchnote: Loops & Arcs

A game I enjoy playing is Among Us. The goal of the game is to use social deduction to discover the imposter, who is sabotaging the game by killing crewmates. The crewmates have a core game loop of moving, doing tasks, avoiding death, and reporting suspects. The imposter has a core game loop of blending in, faking tasks, killing, and avoiding suspension. While both players have different goals, the overall loop for both incorporates deception, deduction, and risk. For a skill atom, a player must first observe behavior. From there, they must use feedback to say that somone is acting suspicious or does their task. For their mental model, they must decide who to trust or accuse. The arc of the game starts in the lobby, where players get setup and situated. Then, there is rising tension whenever someone is killed. The climax is when a player is accused of being the impostor. The final resolution is when the vote is conducted, and a player may be kicked off.
