A game that I like playing is Fortnite. A mechanic I enjoy about this game is the different modes but my favorite mode is playing squads with my friends. This mechanic of the game creates a dynamic of working together to beat other squads. This fosters a fellowship type of fun that I like because I enjoy working together with my friends towards a common goal—getting a victory royale. Similarly, this also creates a sense of competition fun which I like because I consider myself to be a competitive person. Another mechanic I like about Fortnite is the building system. Building makes the game more difficult and creates tension when trying to beat other squads. You have to think more about high ground and positioning when playing and this increases the challenge and competition fun I experience. Another mechanic I like about Fortnite is the skins that you can wear/buy. Back in the day, when I was not as smart with my money I would buy skins that I thought were cool. I liked that some skins were more rare from older battle passes and it created a dynamic that some skins in the game were considered “sweaty skins.” This would make players in the game not want to engage in battle with you because they would think you’re good based on your skin. This added a psychological dynamic to the game I would say. But I enjoyed being able to express myself in Fortnite, which is another type of fun I experienced when playing.
