A game that I used to play a lot was Genshin Impact. This is an open world game where players form teams of characters to overcome challenges and progress through the story. This game is fun for me because I get to customize parties to my liking, gamble for characters I want, and play with friends (fellowship). Some of the mechanics involved in this game that make it fun for me include: character party & swapping, combat, exploration & world features, combat, and gacha. In this game, I am able to swap characters in and out from my main team, I am able to form new teams as well, use these teams to explore the world and fight monsters, and complete quests that help me progress through the story. This game relies pretty heavily on its story to keep players engaged. They release new chapters of the game every couple of weeks to keep players engaged and wondering when the next major story quest is coming. One becomes really involved with the characters and their own backstories even if they are not interested in leveling up their characters to the max.
