One of my favorite games of all time is Blaseball, an absurdist baseball simulator that allows fans to influence events that happen in the sim. It’s been dead since 2023, sadly, but it was such an incredible community experience and just ?? everything about it ? is hard to describe but it made a lasting impression.
A recent game I’ve loved a lot is Ultrakill, which is this really fast boomer shooter about being a robot who is emptying out Hell. It’s fun enough to more than make up for my lack of skill in first person shooters and it’s aesthetically and conceptually gorgeous. I like robots and violence.
