Introduce Yourself – Lisa Ing

Hello! My name is Lisa Ing (she/her) and I’m a junior studying computer science on the visual computation track. I’m passionate about developing technology that empowers artists to tell their stories! I love playing games where I can check on my little guys at the end of the day to destress and engage with my favorite characters.

My favorite game of all time is the My Little Pony: Magic Princess mobile game by Hasbro! It’s a village simulator game set in the world of the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic animated series.  This game is one of my favorites because of the attention to detail put into simulating all the lands, characters, and quirks that appear in the animated series. Additionally, there’s a variety of minigames and missions that take you along the storyline of the series, which draws me in as a fan of the show. Overall, the game is a fun way to engage with My Little Pony and a relaxing way to unwind.

The most recent game I enjoyed is the Chiikawa Pocket mobile game by Nagano. If you haven’t heard of Chiikawa, let me put you on. Chiikawa is a heartwarming slice-of-life Japanese manga and anime that follows this small and cute creature named Chiikawa and their friends. Recently, I’ve been devoting my free time to Chiikawa Pocket, where you can play as your favorite Chiikawa characters and explore the world depicted in the Chiikawa manga. Just like the MLP mobile game, I enjoy this game because of its attention to detail to the source material! It’s fun to see easter eggs from the manga make its way to the mobile game and it makes the whole gameplay experience fun and wholesome.

Here’s a photo of me (ft. Chiikawa), taken last quarter at the MINISO in Palo Alto.
