P2: Map, Premise, Project Plan – Noe Chicas

Premise:

In this story, Leon wants to keep spending time with his best friend pip, but can’t, because pip is gone and Leon hasn’t been able to accept it.

It’s after midnight and Leon is alone at his computer, in a whiteboard room he has been drawing in by himself since June. He logs in and finds that someone is there: pip, drawing a flower. Leon asks pip to play a game, but pip would rather stay in this room and doodle. So they draw. pip shows off his drawings, and Leon pins his own photos, songs, and notes on the board, which is how the player learns who Leon is. How you talk to pip shows how Leon is grieving, and the story ends in one of three ways. In one, pip says he’ll pop into a game, and Leon walks through a 3D world they started together, talking to himself because nobody answers, until he reaches the place where they would have built it together. In another, Leon finds a message that pip actually left for him. In the last, he finds the news article that shows how pip died

  • Add the different ways of talking to pip, each showing a different grief
  • Polish first quarter of the game -> text, drawings, etc.

  • The 3D world, kept to a few small places, with Leon’s lines triggered by where he walks
  • The message pip left for Leon
  • The news article about how pip died
  • Decide what picks which ending

  • Address any more feedback and see if intended emotion shows.
