Narrative Directions:
Direction 1 – Open Exploration
I’m thinking about to make the game a cozy open exploration experience, similar to A Short Hike. Players are free to walk around the town at their own pace instead of following a fixed path. As a stray dog looking for its previous owner, they can discover different areas, meet new people and animals, and complete small side quests along the way. Exploring familiar places or finding meaningful objects would trigger memories from the dog’s previous life, slowly revealing more about its owner and the town. The story is mainly driven by the player’s curiosity and the places they choose to explore.
Direction 2 – Relationship Simulation
This direction focuses more on the characters living in the town. Instead of mainly exploring new locations, players spend more time helping different residents with their daily problems and getting to know them. As relationships grow, each character shares different memories or stories about the dog’s previous owner. Players slowly piece together the past through conversations rather than simply finding clues. This direction would make the town feel more alive and encourage players to care about the people and animals around them.
Direction 3 – Mystery Investigation
In this direction, the game still looks like a relaxing cozy adventure on the surface, but there is a hidden mystery underneath. While searching for its previous owner, the dog begins to notice that different characters remember the past differently, and some places seem to hide something important. Players would collect memories, compare different stories, and slowly uncover the truth behind the owner’s disappearance and the hidden storyline. Instead of giving all the answers directly, the game lets players put the pieces together themselves as they continue exploring.
