The main decision making mechanic within the game Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood is the divinations you do in the form of card readings. The twist from traditional tarot cards is the fact that you use your magical energy(gained from the outcomes you choose in your divinations) to create your own cards with unique art that the player makes. When doing a reading, you get options that relate to the card you pulled in relation to the question you are answering. You make multiple readings, before you find out that you do not discover the future. You write it. This instantly flips the tone and turns the readings from a discovery to a proclamation, changing the aesthetic from the more 3rd person observer role to the first person decider roll. The experience of making the cards, then using them to make your own decisions gives the player a feeling of agency when they immerse themselves within the media to a deeper extent, and the mechanics that allow that to happen are put together in such a way to veil the linearity of the game. In what would in most cases turn into a story that you experience and that is the story, turns into what feels like a sandbox of possibility within a game with most of the variety being small between playthrough with most difference in the beginning and end.
