A game I have been really enjoying recently is PEAK.
Mechanics: It has some mechanics like holding right click, to help a friend climb to you, or–if you change the setting–being able to kick them off a cliff; pressing on the scroll wheel to ping where you want to go; or, if you get hungry enough, holding e to cannibalise your friend, removing yourself of hunger, but dealing curse damage.
Dynamics: These mechanics create the dynamics that reward you for playing with others. Even if not all of them make you want to help your friends, they all make for fun–and sometimes even funny–interactions. For example, threatening to eat your friends if they don’t climb faster, beating the game together, separating and seeing the scoutmaster for the first time.
Aesthetics: These dynamics then help the game feel fun because of the fellowship/comradery you are making or breaking. I have learned it is a lot more fun with others, especially if you decide to roleplay and pretend you are the people climbing the mountains. Whenever my friends and I rp together while playing PEAK, we barely even start climbing before we all break and start laughing.
