MDA pratice_Super Mario Odyssey

I love the game Super Mario Odyssey.

Key Mechanics: It includes some key mechanics including pressing B to make Mario jump, pressing Y to throw out the hat and capture on anything that could be captured, and using combination of different buttons to realize different ways of Mario’s movement. In the view of the whole game, it has a basic rule that as long as you collect enough moons, you can repair the Odyssey and chase to save the princess. Meanwhile, you need to fight against the monster’s accomplices and save various countries.

Dynamics: It create a dynamic that players would be willing to take trials when they encounter something new as the experiments do not cost much. It is quite easy for players to try whether the thing in front of them could be captured, or what is the best way to beat the enemies. They would be willing to try these and would get feedback quickly as they solve the problem. Furthermore, the map is big and there is little limitation to the players, so they could explore everything just following their own pace. Also, Mario got 6 lives and could refresh its life by resting, which make the players less likely to be forced to start over again and make them more engaged.

Aesthetics: This dynamic brings me the fun of Challenge. As it keeps creating some challenges that you have not seen before, but they could be solved with trials and exploration. When I overcome the challenge, I would feel satisfied as I solve something that once bothers me.
