Moodboard:

Concept 1:
- Gen-Z Nihilism vibe – “haha we’re all going to die who cares” type of existentialism, not taken too seriously – the boba store is a classic pretty one outside, the warehouse aesthetic is campy colorful and weird. More of a Discovery experience. Could be cool to focus on a couple characters thru environmental storytelling
- Trying to evoke feeling of whimsy, absurdism, “we’re all gonna die but at least we have boba!”
Concept 2:
- Cosmic horror – something is weird already in the normal boba store, it’s weirdly empty/looks like a front, there is just one employee listed… leaning heavily on the sci-fi twist after implications of things being weird. the warehouse is empty and weird and then the reveal is a big shock. More of a Fantasy/Challenge experience.
- Trying to evoke existentialist musings – doki doki style
Concept 3:
- Asian soft power – the boba monster is taking over different cities, and now it’s in [insert asian city here]. The boba shop is a very traditional boba store. More of a Narrative experience. Maybe the customers outside are very fleshed out people. In contrast, the warehouse is very cultureless, almost like a blank slate, and the plot twist is a big reveal about appropriation
- Trying to evoke critical reflection about weaponizing culture / asian stereotyping through association w/ boba – reflective cultural commentary
