P2: Checkpoint 1 – Individual Post

Playlist:

The 3 emotions I want to evoke are: suspense, curiosity, nostalgia

Direction 1: The Relic Run

A student in a red hoodie sneaks through old underground steam tunnels beneath a fictional university campus while carrying a glowing axe-shaped relic wrapped in cloth. The game would be a slower exploration-platformer where the player moves through pipes, brick arches, maintenance rooms, puddles, and hidden passageways while avoiding campus security and uncovering old notes, maps, and rivalry graffiti. The player also has access to combat tools, which will have customizable skills depending on their major.

Direction 2: The Ongoing Prison Experiment

This direction would follow a student who gets locked out after midnight and has to find their way across campus through strange hidden routes. The campus feels different at night and the student explores through the different underground pipes to find their way back into their dorm. During their adventure, they uncover a huge campus mystery that the 1971 Stanford Prison experiment is still ongoing and prevalent underground. It would be more about wandering, discovering hidden spaces, and slowly uncovering & piecing together this big campus mystery.

Direction 3: The Great Rivalry Prank

This version would be more playful and chaotic, centered on a group of students trying to pull off a harmless legendary prank before the Big Game. The player would sneak through different campus areas like tunnels, rooftops, libraries, dining halls, and a stadium, using the environment to move objects, distract guards, and set up the prank. It would have a fun heist feeling, but with a cozy college rivalry tone instead of anything violent.
