Narrative:

  1. After getting fed up working overtime in big cities, you quit your white-collar career and find a new job as a train conductor in a remote seaside village. First day on your job, you receive a letter from the railroad management saying the remaining few train lines will be shut down in 7 days if aggregate passenger number doesn’t hit a goal, so it’s now your drop the save the train lines for the village. The gameplay will mostly consist of 2 parts: during work hours, you work at the ticket office in a Papers Please-like fashion, checking passenger’s ID and destination then issuing them the right tickets. Finding earlier trains and better discounts for the passengers improve satisfaction that attracts more passengers, while messing up their tickets will reduce satisfaction. After work, you get to explore the village and the surroundings and talk to the NPCs. You may be able to trigger events or purchase items that help attract more passengers. For example, if you purchase a binocular, then explore the hills next to the train station, you’ll be able to find an interesting bird and post it on your social media. Next day, 20 birdwatchers will come to the village on one of the trains, help contributing to the passenger count goal. The game would have multiple endings, bad ending where the train lines got shut down and the player must return to their big city job, a normal good ending where the player hits the goal and keeps the train station running, and maybe some secret endings.
  2. You, a space tourist, wake up in a space station all alone. Communication with Earth is badly interfered by a geomagnetic storm, and you can only make out a few words in every sentence. Using clues and instructions left behind and the intermittent communication, you must find a way home. Think like Gravity + Lifeline + puzzle games
  3. After getting fed up working overtime in big cities, you quit your white-collar career and instead started a small restaurant. The main game loop would be running the restaurant (simulation/management) and talking to certain NPCs, but as you keep on playing you discover snippets about the past history of the restaurant, like pieces of recipes and letters. You eventually piece together the history of the original owner of the restaurant who has immigrated abroad/back to their home country, and the ending of the game would be a letter to the original owner, who sends back one of their recipes and completes the original menu of the restaurant.
