My team and I are creating a midwest-emo meets fantasy themed game, where you play as a wizard who works at a gas station. Your job is to craft potions for whatever baggage, ailments, and desires your customers may have.
I see the 3 core moods as:
- Nostalgic
- Grungy/Punk
- Whimsical

My tentative Midwest-Emo Wizard playlist:
The game’s fun stems from the process of discovering and experimenting with potions, and seeing the wild effects it can have on your customers. There are multiple ways to solve your customer’s problems, and depending on what potion you use to do it, you’ll see different narrative outcomes.
I see a lot of embedded storytelling potential with each character. Each character that comes in could bring their own water bottle they have you fill. We can use the appearance of the bottle, its dents, stickers, and form, to say a lot about each character.
Many of our ideas are already solidified, so these are some UX flows outlining how the player would interact with the ingredients shelf and computer.
