I really enjoy the game Minecraft! Minecraft utilizes a lot of different loops, from farming to crafting, players are constantly gathering resources, learning recipes, and crafting better tools/materials and so on to maximize efficiency in the game. There is also a combat loop where players fight mobs to gather certain loot that helps them eventually craft stronger armor and potions to take on stronger mobs (eg using spider eye to craft potions to go against blazes). In terms of arcs, there’s one that is centered around killing the enderdragon, which is technically the “final level” of the game as designed by the game designers. However, some players embark on their own self-designed arcs, whether that be to build an empire or nether fortress. The hunger that intrinsically motivates players includes curiosity to explore, desire for creativity, and survival drive.
