Hi! My name is Emma Wang and I’m a senior studying CS and Design and coterm in CS. I go by she/her pronouns and I love all sorts of games — puzzles, board games, video games, etc. My favorite game of all time is probably Egyptian Rat Screw / Rat Slap, it’s a card game that tests your reflexes, where you have to slap combinations of different cards. I like ERS because it can get pretty competitive and everyone gets invested in it — it goes really fast, and you can play with just one other friend or with large groups of people and you can add or change as many rules as you’d like, so it never gets old. In general, I love card games because they’re timeless and they always encourage people to get together in person!
A recent game I enjoyed was Codenames. It’s also a game that requires everyone to get really invested and I like that it brings in an element of needing to know your teammates well, or if you don’t, you really get to know them better. It’s always funny to try and see the different ways people think and how they try to link words together.
