I’m Melody (she/her/hers), a Product Design undergrad and CS coterm. I like being called Melody, but I have no problem being called any variation of nicknames (Mel is common). I’m excited to be in this course!

This might be cheating, but for my favorite all-time game(s), I genuinely love CoolMathGames. I never grew out of that phase in third grade! Papa’s Pizzeria, powerline.io, balloon tower kingdom? All absolutely slap. I can remember different phases of my life depending on which game I was playing at the time, so there’s a very strong feeling of nostalgia when I enter the site- it acts as a time capsule. Many of these can be found on their own browser, but they simply don’t hit the same without the CoolmathGames border.
I’m currently enjoying openfront.io, a variation of territorial.io, where you act as a country and try to claim as much land as possible. You can play globally or against bots (over 100 players possible in one round), with each player acting as their own country with the same objective. You can create allies, build cities, ports, etc. It’s really fun with a lot of different strategies to play around with, I highly recommend!
I’m ecstatic to jump into this course and create my own game!
