Narrative 1: The Lost Captain’s Treasure Map

  • Story: Players are part of a pirate crew that discovers the treasure map of a legendary captain. The goal is to follow the map, decipher the riddles, and find the treasure, all within the confines of the box.
  • Puzzle 1: Map with hidden coordinates
    • Players receive a physical map inside the box. They must use the included UV flashlight to reveal hidden coordinates on the map.
    • Coordinates lead to a specific page in the accompanying storybook that provides the next clue.
    • Also fake clues
  • Puzzle 2: Riddles in a bottle
    • Players find a set of riddles hidden inside small, faux glass bottles. Solving the riddles leads to the next step in the treasure hunt.
    • Riddles can be related to different elements of the escape room in a box, such as the map or storybook.
  • Kinds of Fun: Sense pleasure, Fantasy, Challenge

Narrative 2: Siren’s Curse

  • Story: Players are sailors who have been lured by the song of a siren, who has placed a curse on their ship. They must find the magical conch shell and break the curse before the ship sinks.
  • Puzzle: Musical lock
    • Players must recreate the siren’s song using a series of included musical note cards.
    • Once the song is played correctly, a secret message on the cards (visible only under the UV flashlight) reveals the next clue.
  • Kinds of Fun: Fantasy, Narrative, Discovery

Narrative 3: The Great Pirate Escape

  • Story: Players have been captured by a notorious pirate crew and must escape from their brig before they are forced to walk the plank.
  • Puzzle: Morse code message
    • Players find a Morse code message on a parchment inside the box and must decipher it to reveal the combination to a lock.
    • The lock opens a small envelope containing the next clue and a set of tools
  • Kinds of Fun: Challenge, Fellowship, Discovery
