Hello, my name is Rohan Gonzalez. My pronouns are he/his/him/whatever other male pronouns I missed. I am not necessarily a gamer per se, however, I do play video games. They just do not happen to be in the best variety. I am more of the type to play a couple mainstream games, but even when it comes to that, I have not exactly played a great amount. For instance, I barely know anything about Minecraft, I kind of just have it. The reason I mention all this is due to the fact that I am not necessarily the most comfortable mentioning my favorite game. It is one of the most basic answers a human being could give you to where even Pac Man sounds niche.
It’s Roblox.
I had trouble choosing this because, if I am being honest, it is one of my favorite and most hated games I have played. Also, it is not necessarily a game, but more a platform, so I would like to mention my favorite space on it. I really like my own games on Roblox to be completely honest, which sounds egotistical, but I genuinely like, or liked, making crappy games on Roblox Studio that me and my friends could play. Some of the best times of my life were spent on little projects running on YouTube tutorial code.
However, I want to specify that I hate modern Roblox, which makes my answer a little mixed. I liked older Roblox, and even the more recent versions this decade with all its flaws. Today though, the platform has become so hard to do what I love, which is making little games, so I stepped away from it very recently, actually. So yeah, this giant platform made me the best memories and also tore away my dreams. On a happier note though, this gives me an opportunity to try out some actual games. I am looking to someday become an actual gamer, or at least play some more good games. I don’t have a PC, which makes it difficult, but maybe one day that will change. Recently, I played Shadow of Mordor and War, and I really enjoyed the nemesis system there, but it is a shame it was patented. That has been my entry into some actual games away from the mainstream, and I hope that expands, possibly through this class!
