Hi everyone! My name is Eleanor, I go by Ellie, and I use she/her pronouns.
Favorite game of all time and why:
It’s super simple, but Kakuro–It’s a logic puzzle somewhat like the child of Sudoku and a crossword puzzle. You have an unusual crossword-like grid, and each row or column of different lengths has a sum that it has to contain. It means you end up thinking a lot about combinations and permutations, recognizing patterns, and extrapolating way far ahead. It’s nothing wild at all, but it got me through the pandemic, is nice for an introvert, and has become a mind-quieter in times of stress.
Recent game you enjoyed and why:
Nertz–It’s essentially a competitive, chaotic version of Solitaire. I grew up loving to play Solitaire with my grandparents, so any way to share it with friends and loved ones is amazing. I’ll be honest: I get stressed out by speed games, so this can get chaotic quickly, but it’s fun to play with my partner, and only more stressful when you play with 3+. There’s online ways to play, and the general community is wildly good at it.
