My favorite game of all time is Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. This is a game about piloting giant robots and committing war crimes for pay, with a unique and masterfully executed set of game mechanics, a customization engine so robust that it is almost a 2D image editing + 3D modelling software in itself, and a surprisingly compelling story with a memorable cast of characters on top of it all. This game is very dear to me, I got into a lot of new hobbies and media because of it, and I bonded with some of my best friends by info-dumping about this game to them.
A recent game I enjoyed is Slay the Spire 2 (play time is at 53 hours as of writing). StS1 is also one of my all time favorites; both games are just very fun and well-designed roguelikes where no two runs feel similar to each other. I’m also a big fan of Mega Crit’s sense of humor and their off-kilter yet charming aesthetics.
