Critical Play: One Night Werewolf

  • We played one night werewolf on netgames.io
  • The target audience is groups of people who are able to think critically and play  long story oriented games.
  • The notable elements of the game:
    • at least 4 players
    • each player can vote out who they think the were wolf. The werewolf can kill players in the night and some of the other players can cause mischief and uncover clues to discover the werewolf. It is one round. The objective is unilateral competition where the villagers want to stop the werewolf and the werewolf wants to escape. Compared to mafia or multiple night were wolf I think it is worse because the anticipation of seeing the werewolf close to winning or the villagers close to discovering the were wolf is gone. It was fun enough, but it would have been more fun had there been more players, clearer directions, and over the course of several nights. The failure in the game was that they said you needed 4 characters to play, but when cards were switched out we didn’t have a werewolf some rounds. I would change the minimum amount of players and over the course of several nights.
