Game Directions:
1) Point and Click: The game features a ladybug exploring different stages and solving basic puzzles to move from stage to stage. Stages are designed to reflect the bug’s diminutive perspective, so normal human objects and spaces appear gigantic, and maybe distorted. A simple plot revolves around a ladybug being caught by a child in their backyard, forcing the bug to escape the child’s room, traverse the yard, and return home.
2) Hybrid Platformer: The game has the same plot as before, but features a core of satisfying platformer movement controls that is retained throughout different levels that focus on different mechanics. For example, rather than the opening bedroom escape scene being a basic point and click escape room, the player has to control the bug to fly around and crawl up surfaces in order to interact with different objects.
3) Horror Parody: Same overall plot, but the game is a walking sim through the child’s room and the yard. While the graphics are still bright and cheery, jump scares and chase sequences feature cats, spiders, and the ever-pursuing child. None of the visual assets are visually scary, but they are accompanied by scary auditory cues to build tension and parody the millions of lazy horror walking sims.
