Hi everyone! I’m Jasmine and I’m a senior majoring in CS (HCI track).
My favorite game of all time has got to be either OFF or Undertale, but I’ll go with OFF so I can take this opportunity to evangelize. OFF is a surrealist horror RPG by indie developer Mortis Ghost in which you play as a man called the Batter on a mission to “purify” the world. Without giving too much away, it’s an extremely… bizarre emotional experience. I don’t know if “fun” is quite the right word, but trust me, it deserves this spot — if a horror game that isn’t so much scary as it is drenched in a creeping and inescapable sense of unease (with a unique visual style and compelling story to boot) sounds like your idea of a good time, you should check it out! (The soundtrack is also fantastic. I mean, it’s unnerving and borderline grotesque at times, but like… in a good way, y’know?)
A game I’ve been enjoying recently is Pokémon Legends: Arceus! I’ve been a diehard Pokémon fan since I was little, and it’s still, as a whole, my favorite franchise of all time. I’m loving PLA so far, and I’m excited to see where the franchise is headed now that it’s exploring such a new direction!
