MDA & 8 Kinds of Fun – Jinpu

Black Myth: Wukong is a game that I really enjoy. Honestly, I have only experienced some parts of it. However, it still left a very deep impression on me. One important reason is that I am very familiar with its background. The game is based on Chinese mythology, especially Journey to the West. This gives me a very strong cultural and fantasy foundation.

In terms of mechanics, the game is a classic action RPG. The player fights enemies or bosses in different levels. The character can use different weapons, mainly staffs, and different spells and skills during a battle.

These mechanics create clear dynamics in boss fights. When facing different bosses, the player needs to learn their patterns and understand the weaknesses in their actions. After finding these weaknesses, the player can make careful trial attacks. If the attack succeeds, there is a sense of reward. If it fails, the player has to try again and adjust their strategy.

For me, the most impressive experience is the game’s strong sense of immersion. It creates both sensation and fantasy. The combat makes me very engaged. The visual effects are very fantastical. The character’s moves look stylish (aligning what I am expecting according to my background knowledge). Another important part of the fun is the challenge. Some bosses are very hard to win against. I need to spend a lot of time trying, finding their weaknesses, and learning how to make the correct attack. The process is tough during gameplay, but enjoyable at the same time.
