Short Exercise: What do Prototypes Prototype?

  • To what extent does our prototype encourage social connection?

  1. This is an important question to answer because we think it is really important that our game promotes social connection, because social connection is so healthy for our wellbeing as humans and it is something that people may be lacking in certain quantities. We will make an implementation prototype to answer this question. My guess about how it will turn out is that it won’t go as well at first because this is a new experience for many of us, but we will iterate on our idea.

  • To what extent is our prototype fun?

  1. This is an important question to answer because users wouldn’t return to our game if it wasn’t fun. We will make an integration prototype to answer this question, because we need to see the entire extent of the game to see if it is truly fun. My guess about how it will turn out is that it won’t be very fun at first, but that it will become more fun with more iterations.

  • What type of fun are users having when they use our prototype?

  1. This is an important question to answer because knowing what type of fun users are having will allow us to be more targeted in making our game as ethical as possible. We will make an implementation prototype to answer this question. My guess about how it will turn out is that we will be able to identify the type of fun users are having.
