Tiny Playable Prototype – Pedro Civita

I’m very glad that during class, when playtesting my (scrappy) paper prototype with my peers, I started to realize that my previous idea needed quite a bit of tweaking. The most important observations that I made were around the fact that I should focus on telling a single experience, and truly create meaningful decisions with dilemmas that serve as the driving force of my story. We also discussed how my story wasn’t necessarily tackling some form of future dystopia, so I definitely want to spend some more time thinking about a theme that could be more interesting. One idea that came up while talking with Edwin, was to perhaps make my IF be told through an email portal simulator where the interface is a browser itself, similar to the aesthetics of Emily is Away:

In this scenario, I was thinking of maybe focusing on telling my story through email exchanges. I was also quite inspired by my peers to try and tackle this project in Unity. While I know it’ll require a bit more setup to get going, I feel that I want to take on this challenge!
