Final Class Reflection

Before this class, I thought about play and game design in a rather limited way. As someone who isn’t particularly drawn to gaming, my perception of play was confined to the realm of entertainment and escapism. I believed game design focused solely on creating virtual worlds for players to immerse themselves in, without much thought to its broader impact or potential for innovation.

Throughout my time in CS 247G, my perspective underwent a profound transformation. Engaging in a variety of activities and experiencing diverse learning opportunities, I began to comprehend the depth and significance of play as an essential human experience and the immense potential game design holds beyond mere entertainment.

In the class, I delved into the fundamental concepts of game design and discovered their relevance to various aspects of life.
