Direction 1

Premise: You’re a worker at an arcade and have a closing shift. After finishing all of your tasks, you try to leave the arcade but realize that it’s locked. You fall asleep and have a dream about a missing child who went missing 20 years ago and was last seen at the arcade you work at. You wake up and realize you must solve the mystery in order to leave the arcade.

Objective: Solve the mystery of the missing child on order to escape the arcade.

Types of Fun: sensation, discovery, narrative, challenge

Possible puzzles: Finding the right keys to unlock a prize case, playing arcade games, feeding the ticket machine a certain number of tickets

Direction 2

Premise: You go to a high school reunion and learn that your high school best friend was recently murdered. Apparently, the murder has come to the reunion and is slowly starting to kill the alumni one by one.

Objective: Find the killer to escape.

Types of Fun: sensation, discovery, narrative, challenge

Possible puzzles: exploring different school rooms in order to populate a map, entering a passcode to get into certain rooms, collecting evidence (murder weapons, surveillance footage)

Direction 3

Premise: A lethal disease has plagued the world, and you’re locked inside your house trying to survive. You work with your friends to gather information and materials in attempt to find a cure.

Objective: Make the cure in order to make yourself immune and escape the room.

Types of Fun: sensation, discovery, challenge, fantasy, fellowship

Possible puzzles: finding specific ingredients, mixing ingredients in the right order/at the right time, finding the right books for recipes
