Intro: Jeong

Hello everyone, I’m Jeong and I use she/her pronouns. I’m joining the class a bit late, but am really excited to delve into it.

My favorite game of all time has to be Korean Omok, also known as Gomoku. Growing up, my parents weren’t around a lot because of work, but when they were, we always played at least two rounds of Omok. It was something that brought the whole family together, so it reminds me of home and has a very special place in my heart. I hate to admit this, but my brother is definitely the best in the family (but I’m coming for that championship title). It’s also a very easy game to learn, which I appreciate, since I think the accessibility of a game is important to how enjoyable it can be.

A recent game I enjoyed playing was Among Us. I don’t know a single person who didn’t play this game during quarantine. I played this religiously with my friends — we would hop on FaceTime or Zoom and pull up Among Us on our phones, and play for hours. The other day, one of my best friends from high school texted me that she wanted to play, which was super out of the blue but exciting since I hadn’t played in a few years. We brought some of our friends together and played a few games. It felt very nostalgic! Among Us was one of the few things that made time pass a bit more quickly during quarantine, and though I don’t miss quarantine one bit, I do look on the times I played games with my friends, very fondly.
