  1. Player comes back to their dorm room to find the room is a mess and a piece of paper with a symbol on it and their roommate nowhere to be found. The player searched the room for clues (newspaper clippings with scribbles from your roommate, old photos, roommate’s notes) and determine that your roommate has been researching a secret society at your university for an article in the newspaper. She seems to be searching for a hidden chamber where the secret society gathers and stores their secret documents. And from your roommate’s notes, it seems she has found the location and has gone after the chamber, but from the fact she has been missing for so long, you suspect she has been trapped within. Thus, the player’s objective is to uncover the location and determine the secret passcode needed to gain entrance to the secret chamber and save the roommate.
  2. Player(s) solve 4-5 puzzles related to uncovering the mysteries of a secret society in the university. Each of the first 4 puzzles gives you a word that when all combined together, form the secret phrase of the secret society. You input the word at each step into an online passcode checker that tells you if you’re right or not and then gives you the context for the next part of the puzzle box. The final puzzle is solving the the mystery location of the secret society’s gatherings, and the passcode is used at the mystery location to open the door.
  3. Potential Puzzles:
    1. Searching through the missing roommate’s things and you find a newspaper clipping that mentions the secret society’s inauguration date, and this year is the number of a book page where a highlighted word containing the first part of secret phrase
    2. For a puzzle to determine the location of the hidden chamber, you have a map of the school and have to piece together a paper overlay (somehow with additional puzzles?) that when put together, marks an X where the chamber is located in the school
    3. Coded letters between members that somehow fell into your roommate’s hands and using the cipher with the key word from the previous puzzle to find the letters to the next part of the phrase
