Traditional Platformer

It would be a 2D level game, following a Mario-style game. There would be different levels in elevation, and you would go towards the right to level completion. There would be fauna to interact with and small clues on what you’re supposed to do. As they move forward, the story progresses with them finding ingredients to make a potion or perfume.

Walking Simulator

Players can move up, down, left, and right. The controls and layout of the game are similar to the Pokemon DS games, where players unlock maps and can move around in the world. While there is a main story line, there are a lot of side quests and navigation is more open-ended to give a more independent feel and to make the game more interactive. The accessibility to different maps and having to travel through all of them can help unify the pages together as well as allow for cross map interaction (a quest in a cottage can lead to finding an item in the forest to giving it to a person in the mountains).

Scene Expansion

Players are set up in a central spot that represents the story in its early beginnings. They are stuck in this scene until they figure it out and complete level objectives to move on to the next. This allows for easy level progression and is relatively easy to code. It is inspired by many early abode flash games, like the Duck Life series. Each scene can have small mini-games, contributing to more fun activities and breadth.
