Monument Valley uses both loops and arcs. The main loop is solving puzzles by rotating and moving parts of the level to help the character, Ida, reach the end. These puzzles repeat in different ways and help players learn and improve. At the same time, there’s a story arc that slowly unfolds as you go through the game. It gives the puzzles more meaning and makes the game feel emotional. The game does a good job combining fun gameplay with a simple story, showing how loops and arcs can work well together.
