We are planning on having our game be some sort of narrative involving a ladybug trying to navigate a series of challenges in various scenes. Some of my potential ideas/direction include:
1. Mystery Element: Each scene reveals a truth that will be clear by the end. One idea is that there is a kid chasing the ladybug, but in the earlier scenes it is some mysterious shadowy creature. This would develop several types of fun, including discovery, narrative, and challenge.
2. Platform Scenes: One potential scene I want to work on is a platform/combat scene, similar to the style of Mario. This would come later in the game and add more stakes to the game, creating a sense of challenging fun. The player would ideally use materials and knowledge acquired earlier in the game to defeat this level!
3. Style: We are interested in creating an ethereal and mystical vibe in the game. While the gameplay is important, one thing we are prioritizing is the look and style of the game. This will develop a sensation style of fun. We want to have stunning visuals, immersive music, and an overall cute and cohesive style.
