Checkpoint 0: Team Norms

Teammates: Eleanor, Shang, Yanny

  1. We arrive at meetings within 5 minutes of the agreed start time, with materials ready and full attention on the group.
  2. We give feedback using concrete examples (“this layout confused me because…”), and we balance critique with acknowledgment of what’s working.
  3. If we’re stuck, behind, or unsure how to proceed, we say so in Slack or during check-ins instead of staying silent.
  4. We recognize all types of work, including writing design docs, organizing files, taking notes, and making emotional space for others.
  5. We don’t finalize major narrative, design, or visual decisions unless everyone has had a chance to weigh in synchronously or asynchronously.
  6. We actively ask for ideas across disciplines—coders can comment on visual pacing, and designers can weigh in on game mechanics.
  7. If one of us is overwhelmed or overcommitted, we pause to discuss scope, redistribute tasks, or rework the timeline together.
  8. We write down what we’ve decided—in Notion, under the right page—so no one has to ask twice or guess where things are.
  9. Every Friday, one team member leads a 10-minute retro where we reflect on how we worked and what to improve next week.
