Hey, gamers!! My name is Lour Drick (he/him). I’m a coterm studying Computer Science (probably on the HCI track but 🤷♂️), although I did my undergrad in HumBio (neuroscience concentration). I’m originally from the Boston area~!
My favorite game of all time is Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky. I grew up playing a lot of Pokémon, but I felt like the mainline games treated the Pokémon more like items or tools than actual characters. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon completely changes this as the Pokémon become much more alive, with unique and charming personalities. Not to mention, I think Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky is the best written Pokémon game, both in terms of the overarching storyline as well as the narrative it builds. I remember crying a lot as an 8-year-old when I first played the game. I might even cry now if I were to play it again tbh.
Recently, I’ve been playing Geoguessr a lot because one of my friends accidentally bought a one-year subscription and forced all of us to play in order to get his money’s worth. Besides that, I am a Minecraft gamer at heart 🙂↕️.
Really looking forward to making (and playing) some super cool games this quarter! I’ve always been interested in game design and have always wanted to make my own video game 😀
