So much progress has been made on my game since last week! I have gotten some incredible help from friends in playtesting and planning.
A good friend of mine used to be a writer for an interactive fiction game and is very used to creating interesting stories that keep players engaged. We hopped on a call and he asked some very insightful questions about the game and got me thinking about how I wanted the characters and story to be, and showed me some ways to get players to think about their decisions.
Seamus also helped me out with my prototype by playtesting and giving feedback. He also helped me with brainstorming the story, getting me to think about hard left turns and making the player “scoot-in” to engage with the story (not his actual words).
Both friends really helped me flesh out what my story will be, and I have put some time into Twine to make it playable. Thanks Seamus and Ben for your help!
It has grown so much since class last week and I look forward to finishing fleshing it out this week. I went from being pretty unsure of the concept and only having a few cards to now having a decent idea of the story and a skeleton of the Twine spiderweb.
Here is my current draft: P2 3rd twine draft
