Sketchnote: Game Architecture

One of my favorite games, Life is Strange, developed by Dontnod Entertainment and published by Square Enix, utilizes a parallel arcs narrative architecture that enhances both its storytelling and gameplay experience. Each episode contains its own self-contained narrative arc which feeds into a larger, overarching plot. For example, in one episode, Max might be dealing with a school bully, while simultaneously uncovering clues about a missing student. These arcs run parallel but often intersect, as the insights gained from dealing with the bully might provide crucial context or tools for solving the mystery of the missing student.
