Game Architecture Sketchnote

A game I really enjoy is Monument Valley, and its game architecture involves a comprehensive mix of loops and arcs. There are loops in the sense that players constantly + repeatedly interact with game and improve skills such as moving around the map, manipulating the geometry of the map, and finding ways to get from point A to point B. In addition, there are multiple types of arcs – parallel arcs, levels, and micro parallel arcs – as Monument Valley incorporates a mystical soundtrack to augment gameplay, has 10 different levels of increasing difficulty, and combines both parallel arcs and levels to deliver evocative stimuli as players progress through a level.
