Direction 1:

Dimensional Drift is primarily a walking simulator like we’ve played in class. The goal is to collect a set of hidden items throughout the city and earn them in the interactions with the NPCs. These items are from Blob’s “real life” (i.e. his bike, his dad’s tie, his mom’s sunglasses) and incrementally bring back memories of the real world, his real family, and the fact that he needs to get back.

Direction 2:

Dimensional Drift implements a minor branching narrative based on what dialogue and action options the player chooses in their interactions with the NPCs. At the end, whichever “type” of dialogue or action the player chose dictates the end of the story—either Blob stays in the blob world, returns to the real world, or gets lost in “limbo” between worlds.

Direction 3:

Dimensional Drift is a hybrid analog-digital game. The actual game play happens in the physical world as an escape room in a box. At each stage, there will be an interactive cutscene that introduces the level setting, as well as the character Blob is meeting, their issues, and motivations.
