Roblox Bloxburg is a virtual world where players can build their homes, work at jobs, play with friends, and complete small sidequests. Bloxburg is one of my favorite games because of its house-building system.
The Mechanics
Bloxburg uses a grid system for users to place down walls, windows, doors, roofs, and other objects such as resizable cubes and other shapes. This allows for users to have a lot of liberty in terms of what style they want to build in. They are also able to change the colors of the objects, as well as, choose patterns. Additionally, the grid is adjustable to be made smaller for more precision, and users can build on the XYZ axes. Apart from the main structure of the building, users can place furniture and other decorations. All of these mechanics combine to allow for a lot of creativity and self-expression for users.
The Dynamics
After the user is finished with their build, the game gives the ability to walk within your build and interact with the objects you placed down. For instance, if you place a TV and couch in the living, you as a player can interact with the TV and sit on your couch. Additionally, Bloxburg allows for collaborative building with friends. Players can work together to build their dream home, while building their friendship as well.
The Aesthetics
I would say that Bloxburg has an expression aesthetic, as it allows players to express their creativity, style, and skill through their builds. Players can have different styles of architecture or preferences for grand homes or tiny homes. Players are also not limited to building houses. They can also opt for commercial builds. Bloxburg allows for users to unleash their creativity and send a message about who they are through their builds. Below are some example builds in Bloxburg!
