My favorite game of all time (despite honorable mentions for Terraria, Hearts, Word Hunt and Mancala) is Scrabble, since I grew up playing it with my family, and I love language and words in general – it’s so satisfying finding new vocabulary just to score more points. My favorite recent game is Contexto (contexto.me), along similar lines – it’s super fun to rack my brain for relevant words to get to the target word, and has elicited surprisingly strong feelings of frustration and accomplishment for a little web game.
