Checkpoint 1 P2: Concept Doc

Moodboard

For my moodboard, I wanted to cultivate a mysterious, scarce, and apocalyptic mood, yet still emphasize natural beauty and triumph. I have always loved games which emphasize the aesthetic of the natural world. Our team is working on a game which is set in a post apocalyptic world. Typically, such games have brutalist architecture and gray color palettes. For our game, I didn’t want the storyline to impose strict restrictions on the aesthetic of the game. As such I chose brighter colors and images which displayed natural landscapes.

Possible Directions

  1. One direction for the game is a hunger games style multiplayer game. This fellowship fun could have a narrative of attempting to take control of an abandoned yacht, perhaps to make it off a desert island.
  2. Another direction for the game is a discovery fun where the player wakes up aboard an abandoned yacht with amnesia. They aren’t sure why they are there and what happened. The narrative of the game takes the player on a discovery quest to find out what happened and get home.
  3. The third direction for this game is a zombie apocalypse style game where a player is one of the last healthy humans aboard an abandoned yacht. Between waves of infected monsters attacking the yacht, the player must scavenge for materials on the boat and items dropped by the mobs to synthesize a cure to win the game. This would be challenge fun.
