My favorite game growing up was Katé. It was a game played with 3 players at a time. Two “hitters” that stand across from each other at least 3 meters apart and one person, the “runner”, who has to run back and forth. The hitters throw a ball, usually a stuffed sock, back and forth to each other trying to hit the runner. The runner has to avoid being hit while running in the opposite direction of the ball. The game is so fast paced and based on the skill of the hitters to throw accurately and the runner to avoid being hit. It creates an adrenaline rush that ends in a satisfying whack as a hitter finally catches the runner. It draws on sensory pleasure of the sock being caught and thrown, and the whoosh of the runner as they jump to avoid it.
