It’s so hard for me to pick my favorite game of all time, since so many games have had huge impacts on my life, especially as I’ve met some of my closest friends through many of the games I’ve played. But if I had to choose one game, I’d probably have to say Final Fantasy XIV (please please talk to me about this game, my Slack DMs are open!). I’ve met and developed some of my closest friendships through playing the game and experiencing/discussing the incredible (and incredibly long) story it has to offer. As an MMORPG, it strikes the perfect balance of having a ton of engaging single-player activities while still allowing for many social activities where you can meet others whose interests and goals align with yours, whether it be completing challenging content or just farming for a pretty outfit (the true endgame).
I’ve also enjoyed the latest Picross game on the Nintendo Switch. I’m pretty sure there is an official name for this type of puzzle (pictured below) but I have no idea what the most common name for it is. I love these puzzles because they are calming and can be played in as long or short increments of time as I want. If I ever have trouble falling asleep, these usually do the trick! I also find the controls on Switch to be very intuitive.
