Sketchnote: Interaction Loops and Arcs

Mario Party (main game) Architecture

In Mario Party, the objective is to obtain the most amount of stars after a certain amount of turns. In a looped process, you learn how to obtain stars. For example, mini games throughout the game (smaller loops) give you points that you can use to obtain stars. There isn’t necessarily a strong arc in this game in the same way a board game wouldn’t have a strong arc, but the Mario characters have emotions (losses make them cry, victory makes them pump their fists in the air) — there is an evocative element occuring here, albeit quite shallow.
